Title: Hello!
Post by: va3kot on January 16, 2014, 21:56:09 UTC
Hi. I am John Corby, VA3KOT from Ontario Canada. I have been involved with QRP for about 12 years. My main interest is RaDAR (Rapid Deployment Amateur Radio) which involves setting up a station in the field, making contacts, then moving on to a new location. My portable rig is a Yaesu FT817 with an MFJ-1979 telescopic antennna. I operate mainly SSB and PSK31.

Hi John,
You're very welcome: you'll find plenty of interesting stuff here. I'm a pretty new boy around here too. It took a little while to find my way around the site but I absolutely love it.

There's a great bunch of friendly folk here so... welcome aboard:  if you detect a nautical theme, that's because there is one, so don't worry of you see a little oo-arrrr, arrr, arrr type old seadog talk, it's only natural.

I'm the ship's cat. (Don't ask.....)

Cheers,
