I got my ham ticket in 1983 (VO1RD) while on a military posting in Newfoundland. I have been VE3RRD since 1988. I teach the Basic Ham Qualification course for our club here in Barrie, and am an Accredited Examiner for our club. My first QRP rig was a 40m RockMite kit with xtals for 7030 and 7040. Every time I turn it on, I am surprised at how well the receiver works (although the 500mw TX needs a good antenna to be heard). I am now the proud owner of an Elecraft KX3 (which is an amazing rig), and am enjoying the fun of QRP. 72/73 - AL
