Solid state 20M with VFO and CW/AM

I  have a complete station for 20M set up. The homebrew transmitter on 20M AM and a Grundig Digital  Traveler since I use the station on AM. I reworked a Western Electric operators headset  to take a earphone cartridge compatible with the Grundig  and use its carbon mic to modulate the power available to the PA stages. Now I need a quite night with some ready ears.

I've always wanted to homebrew, but I don't have a lot of parts.  I have made various oscillators in the past, but need to dedicate a place in our new house for such things.
