In HF bands i love QRP CW and Digi modes and my setup is FT897 - IC706MKII with home made Dipoles G5RV and Lwire. For /P operations i use HB-1A or K1 Elecraft qrp RTX with fishing poole for Lwire or dipole (G-QRP #13209).
In my opinion the best portable antenna is the Windom...one 10m fishingpool to support it in invertedV shape and you can work everything.
