I left the sea in 1983 and never touched a morse key or radio for 29 years until Feb 2012.
I joined Stockport Radio Society near Manchester. My ex r/o mate in Hull G4CGG Richard,
encouraged me to get back into radio, and here I am.
I now enjoy QRPP working with the lowest milli watts I can possibly use depending on
conditions at the time.
All the best to all,

Hi Mike,
I'm a new boy here too. You're going to
love it here. Cheerful, kinda nautical flavour, nice, friendly people and -best of all- they're not absolutely nuts on contesting. There is a sort-of contest but it runs over the year and is advertised as an excuse to socialise. Wot is nice.
I'm a former member of SRS myself: they killed it for me when they stopped meeting at The Blossoms, its historical home.Would you fill me in on what's happening at SRS? I've had a sniff around the web site but only recognise one or two calls from the old days. I'd love to know what it's like now.
I came back to the bands last year after a long QRT and I'm having a ball finding out what has developed in the last decade or so. Really interesting and sometimes baffling...
Welcome aboard, stretch yer legs on the upper deck & get to know yer shipmates.
